Unexpected gear mesh Fix!!!
wow...this is pretty cool...
after having my subaru bit for over six months and running it alot, the transmission had gotten increasingly squishy...because the axle does not fit in as snug anymore. A few days ago, it finally gave up and started to grind gears...i was sad, but i still drove it.
Today, i was playing tag with my brother with our cars and was switching gears from teal to orange, and left the teal step down gear on the chassis. i popped the orange axle on and realized what i had done-put a teal step-down with a orange axle. And it rolled perfectly. No more grinding gears. wow... great mistake!
This works because when the car's chassis got worn down, the axle gear was not pressing down on the step down hard enough, and a bigger step down fit in perfectly, so the gears had no more room to grind..
if you have a car with loose gear mesh, you should definately try this little quick fix. it helps out!
