MotorWorks Clone Issues
Hey, I don't know if anyone can help me with this car but i'm sure a lot of you will try. That's what I love about this site.
Alright, I bought a MotorWorks dodge charger a while back... one of my many RC purchases and never really used it. The other weekend I had some friends over and it got pulled out for some racing and got it's ass kicked severly. There were two main reasons for this. One was that it flipped soooo easily. The second reason was that it turns wayyy too sharply... speed was not an issue, it's actually quite fast.
So, I found that if I put some of the body part on it (air vents, etc.) that it was a little heavier and didn't flip as much but was still a major problem. I'm sure that this issue wouldn't be as bad if I could get the steering to calm down a little.
So, if anyone has an idea about how to calm that steering down or another solution I am welcome to hear it. I would like any and all feedback. If you need detailed pictures of the car because you have not owned this brand but think that you can help I will take some time to take some and post them.
Thanks everyone!

I have messed around with pretty much all of micro rc's with the exception of the proportional micro rc's. Motorworks has the fastest stock motor and in my opinion the best micro rc for the money.
I have come up with several ways to keep your micro rc from flipping:
1) The micro Motorworks with the longer wheelbase (range sucks consistently) have two kinds of extra wide tires with different diameters. If you get those smaller diameter extra wide tires, make them your front wheels for the charger. This will definetly keep your car from flipping. Not only that, you will be able to turn at full speed (dual celled).
Gluing the rear wheels together will also prevent car flipping.
2) The messiest way is to either get a wider steering coil or add spacers between the magnets so you can limit the steering. I would recommend the latter if you go this route.
3) Be sure to leave the body without the rear fin, front bumper or the nice chrome engines. These will raise your car's center of gravity causing it to flip a heck of a lot more.
4) My best solution is the following: Glue your rear wheels together so you can have extra wide rear wheels for your charger. Then change the antenna to a thicker gauge wire. Now if your car will flip over, it will usually land on it's side where body and the extra wide rear wheels are touching the ground. If you hit reverse, the car will FLIP ITSELF BACK UPRIGHT. Trust me this will work.
After all the modifications I've made to my Motorworks car, I have consistently beaten every brand of non-proportional micro rc in a 10 lap race on a L-shaped track. Pretty good for a cheap clone.

The above info is for a dual celled car. If you keep your car single celled, all you have to do is change the front wheels to less grippy rubber. The obvious choice is the Microsizers tire kit. Also if you have a zip zap, those rear tires will also lower your car, which will help prevent car flipping.
EITHER WAY, IF YOUR CAR IS DUAL OR SINGLE CELLED, YOU CAN'T USE THE STOCK MOTORWORKS FRONT WHEELS. THEY ARE TOO GRIPPY.

One more thing, change the motor spur gear to the black ones found in many clones and the zip zap motors. This will give you faster speeds due to good gear meshing. While holding my car upside down, the rear wheels will continue to spin after I let go of the forward button.
I've written too much...but I hope this helps. Good luck in the next race!
