Any electronics hop ups available?
Can you add mofsets, relays or anything like that to the mini x to increase speed? I think we are closing in on the easiest way to upgrade the motor by building on 3seiestakumi's idea.
I just wonder if there are any electronics upgrades that anyone knows of. Sorry if its been asked before but my searches didn't turn anything up but I might not have used the right terms for this system.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

most people I've read about have used bigger batteries and motors to improve performance. I have installed a non Mini-X ESC into mine (i still have the stock ESC, but I think I fried it, along with the Rx )
You want to mod the stock ESC, am I right?

Yes, we offer FETs for upgrading the stock ESC, but we're currently out - I'll attempt to remedy that situation shortly!

Yes, Cian I was refering to the stock ESC. At the open track last Friday night there were 3 mini zs with their top motor upgrade as well as Fets.
I think it was fets again I' don't know electronices well enough yet to know which up grade ESCs and PCBs use to improve performance.
Even if we did use the same motor in our mini x we may still be at a disadvantage if the modified mini z board can deliver more current to the motor. At least I think that's the objective to upgrading the ESC or PCB.
With respect to using the ESC and PCB terms am I correct they do the same thing in different configurations? The ESC is a 2 part system, speed and steering are seperate where the PCB is a one piece unit?
Tiny, I'll keep checking but please email me when you have the parts in stock.

use a better esc. Brakes and a almost no limit to the motor. im planning on bigger motor. something i have tried on my x and my friend's z is to install capacitors. wired them up inbetween the motor and esc wire in parallel. more punch and better performance.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the tip what size capacitors did you use or does it matter other than physical size?

I've always heard that the power cap is wired between the ESC and the batteries. From what I understand this also helps the ESC by reducing voltage drops which cause the ESC to do more work and to heat up. As for values, Takumi has a 10V 4700uF cap on his. You need to match or exceed the voltage output of your batteries, and for the Farad capacity, its up to you. The more capacity, the longer it takes to charge, but the more punch/the longer it can deliver that punch.
Random question about the stock ESC, can it handle a 180 motor w/o upgrade? (this would be on either 5 or 6 cells)

Good question cdog, I don't know if the stock ESC can handle a 180. When machine put the 180 in his car he was using the electronics from his micro.
Anyone else?
