This is my Track. It's a Wide L track but is only setup as a Wide Oval for now. It's 13' X 9' and we have a blast with it.

pretty cool , what about a 2ft lane by 10 ft long oval track ? would it be raceable w/ 2 stock xmods?

Depends on your driving skill.

The corners would be very tight.

You would probably need the 4.5 tie rod to negotiate them.

the 4.5 rod would give you worse cornering. u'd need toe-out if you wanted tighter cornering. but then itd be very twitchy.

I think there are several people on the forum that would disagree with you on that statement.

My personal experience is that my cars turn the best with the 4.5.

in real cars toe in gives you stability and toe out gives you more cornering. maybe it doesnt apply to xmods, but from my experience toe in gave me understeer. ::shrug::

In real cars it's the opposite. Toe-out is for stability, toe-in is for more responsiveness.

You put a flag on the antenna. It breaks the beam as it goes by.

Here are pics of the actual working model, and of the flags I use.

Here is a pic of the board that is inside the pipe with the holes. It has 6 phototransistors on it but only 4 are in use. The original wiring diagram I got was for 6 cars but did not work correctly so I found another wiring diagram for a 4 car setup and it works fine.

if you read any automotive 101 book, its toe in for stability and toe out for more response. why would you want toe out for more cornering? because your inside wheel travels in a smaller circle then the outside wheel. toe in gives you understeer.
