Same motors and same magnets.

Get the regular, cheaper one.... or two.

Thanks.....My first mod attempt does not go very well.
I swapped the magnet from the SB into my stock Stage1 8T motor. Only the magnet is swapped. I also advanced the timing according to the other thread on this form.
But both acceleration and speed is reduced after the swap.
Is that normal?? I was expecting more torque with the SB magnet and better acceleration.

Anyway I tried to go back to the stock magnet but I managed to broke one brush as well as ripping out a piece of wire from the winding on the comm.....hehe......
Typical nubee mistakes without the needed patience.

Off to Ratshack tomorrow??
Should I get the Stage 1 or 2 kit?? I run in tight space so acceleration is important.

Any comments welcome. Thanks.

You should have had better acceleration unless you timed the motor incorrectly.

Next time, do the mod without timing it just to see results one step at a time

The S2s with smaller pinions will still give you enough torque to use in small areas. If you are planning to do a swap while using the SB armatures(which give better torque than S2 arms) it won't matter which set you get since the pinions are all the same while comparing s1 and s2. If you plan on using the RS armatures, the s1 have more torque than the s2s.

Most people do the SpinBrush mod on S2 road race, or top speed motors.
