ZipZaps (Newer) Motor Specs

Here was an email that I sent to RS recently, dunno if I'll get any reply other than their standard robotic replies 'tho LOL:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Hello,

Would there be any chance of updating the ZipZaps motor specifications web page (at http://support.radioshack.com/suppor.../zz-motors.htm on your web site) to include the two newer orange 28,000 RPM and purple 34,000 RPM motors? I've found that page quite handy, but really wish that it listed the specs on these two motors as well.

If not, where was the original information and specs for the first four motors obtained from? Is there possibly a manufacturer's web page for the motors that might list the specifications of the two newer motors?

Thanks for your time,

Rich Nagel

Anyhow, does anyone have any idea where those specs and pics on that web page originally came from? I figure that if I could determine the manufacturer of those specific motors that maybe they just might have a web page with specs for the newer orange and purple motors listed -

Hehe my man, I am FAR from an expert on the motors (or even Zaps in general)... after all, I don't even have one that's modded, as all of my Zaps are stock LOL! -

Anyhow, the link in my first post had been original linked at the zipzaps.com web site *eons* ago (back when the first red 'Stangs were released), and I simply remembered the URL to that link -

(edit) P.S. What got me to thinking about that old link was the simple fact that most folks (myself included) were under the impression that the lower RPM motors have more torque, which that web page and pics contained on it completely disproves. I figured that if what holds true for the original first four motors (that the lower RPM ones have less torque), that the orange and purple motors would have more torque than the first four, respectively.

I think it's probably because they all have the same torque, and accelerate at the same rate, and that because they have higher rpm's they take longer to hit top speed. My friend, with his NX motor, and red gears, actually had more of a burst off the line than this girl with the green motor and blue gears. I think it's just a matter of time to hit top speed at the same rate.....

All of the graphs in the pics on that page completely boggle my mind LOL, but I have a hunch that thye prove exactly what you're refering to. Those pics show the torque curve of the original four motors, and it does indeed appear that the curves are quite different... although my jumbled brain has a hard time deciphering the data in the pics LOL.
