dumb mistake...can u help?
Hey, I know there's lots of smart ppl on here, so i figured it couldnt hurt to ask a really dumb question. Well, the other night at about 4 a.m., i finished my 6 cell mod, and was about to test it with my spinbrush motor...and i put the batteries in backwards. very dumb mistake, i know... i didnt realize they were backwards until i turned on the car and the control, and tried to drive it. when nothing happened, i turned it off, opened it, and saw the problem. my question is this: is there any way to save it? i'd like to think i might be able to replace some parts rather than have a very pretty 50 dollar model sitting on my shelf... if anybody knows of anything simliar to this happening and it coming back to life, that would be great. if not, thanks for reading this at least!

Yea i did try putting them in the right way but still nothing. I kept the box and all the packaging, only problem is I custom painted the whole car, as well as most of the plastic inside the car to match. O well...I guess i'll open it up and try to do it myself. Not like I have anything to lose. :'(

IT LIVES!!!!
ALL HAIL TO THE XMOD GODS!!! By some stroke of luck, i turned on the car earlier and it lives! I have no idea what happened... nor do I care, all that matters is it lives! I now have a fully functional 6 cell custom painted rsx. I'm happy! Btw thanks for all your input. Yea, my local shakies aren't the brightest bulbs in the box, and I have had to pull a few returns with my cousin's skyline. Three to be exact, we have no idea why they suddenly would just give up. And his had zero mods, only shack hop ups. Anyways, now my question is this: where can I buy a pinion that will fit a spinbrush motor? the one i got off of an old stock xmod motor is just a little bigger... i tried to super glue it, and it worked great until i punched the throttle. Mistake there, i forgot how much torque that monster has. It broke the seal. I'd be glad to post some pics of the car if anyone is interested in seeing it. Nothing special, but I'm proud. Happy modding!

yea, that sounds like the way to go, i'll definately need something strong like that. But i still think i'll need a new brass dealy... i ever so slightly damaged it while i was taking it off the old xmod motor, and now when i do use it its really loud. oh well...looks like i'll be shopping tomorrow

This is slightly ot, but returned xmods.. What happens to them? *The ones that work. Do they get resold as opened items? Or are they sent to a central distribution center (what heppens from here)?
In short, I want to see if I can find a dinged/opened xmod (care less about the body since I would buy a lighter/cheaper/more resilent lexan replacement). Versus buying a new kit.
With that extra money, I could use for the bearing upgrades (tinyrc's kit since his have a metal shield), and/or the 4wd upgrade.

I'm not using the light kit...not yet, that is. I plan to fabricate my own. I'll replace the stock leds with some different colors...probably a high intensity blue for heads, and leave the taillights stock. Then i'll splice in some foglights. I figure the extra leds won't hurt my runtimes too much with six cells.
