I'm not much of an electronics guru, but I would have to guess that either your batteries in your controller are dead or low (will not charge car battery), or you need a new battery in the car, something might have happened to it while holding the charge that long?

Okay The batts are good in the controller and I charged the car once after storage. Than it won't charge with new batts in the controller. I opened the car and didn't see anything. Below is their dumb moron reply.

Hello Kenny,

Thank you for your email.

We suggest that you try adjusting the steering

Steering Trim
If your car does not drive straight when you release the steering wheel,
adjust ST TRIM on top of the controller.
Place the vehicle on a block or turn it over so the tires do not touch
the ground. Turn the transmitter and vehicle on, and press L or R ST
TRIM until the tires point directly forward. When you finish, opearting
the car, turn off the vehicle and controller. (NOTE: ST TRIM will
revert to factory settings when the controller has been turned off.)

We have received information from our customers concerning increasing
the charge time. The customer turned the car upside down and ran the
motor until the battery was dead, recharged it, and repeated this three
times

If the car still fails to steer correctly, we suggest that you return
the unit to the store where it was purchased.

When responding please ensure that the ORIGINAL EMAIL IS INCLUDED,
either by using the REPLY option or cutting and pasting it in. Failure
to do so, may cause a delay in responding.

Subject: Problem

I am experiencing trouble with my Zip Zaps SE. I try to charge it and
nothing happens at all. Both the car and controller are on and I
followed
the suggestions on your website. I also have problems with the steering.

There is very uneven steering. The car steers much better to the right
than
the left. I would like to find out what the problem is. I hope you can
help.

It's a Nickel Metal Hydride (Nimh) @ 2.4 volts, 70 mah.

Also, Racer9, yes that was a moronic reply. They just don't seem to get electronics. Why did they put a 2.4 volt battery inside there, but it still goes slow? Because they put higher resistance transistors in the PCB. Why did they do that, putting a higher voltage battery and increasing the resistance? That's just ________!!!! And because of this, there is only more _______ weight and less amperage, but if they had just put lower resistance in the transistors, it would be a better SE! They made a very tempting product, but it's a shame they have to ____ it up! God, I will never understand what goes through the ______ minds of these manufactors! (Insert your own words in the blanks.)

I plan on that.

Here is more stupidity from RS! They thank me for my asshole reply (yes I am trying to limit my cursing)! lol!

Hello Again,

Thank you for your response.

The ZipZaps have a 90-day warranty. If the unit is failing to hold a
charge and after cleaning the unit, does not steer correctly, then we
suggest that you return the unit to the store for warranty replacement
if purchased within the past 90-days.

When responding please ensure that the ORIGINAL EMAIL IS INCLUDED,
either by using the REPLY option or cutting and pasting it in. Failure
to do so, may cause a delay in responding.

That helped neither of my problems! The car drives straight but turns
harder
to the right than the left. It will not charge at all. It used to work
fine
but it all of a sudden died after sitting for about a month. I am pretty

disapointed with the quality of these cars so far. They steer much
better
right than left and it now doesn't charge. That is two strikes and with
three I will never buy from your stores again!

I outsmart most of the RS guys all of the time. They're sooo dumb. On a side note, sales people at Toys 'R Us are bumbiling morons! I was walking by a couple shopping for their kids' presents, and the salesman was saying that MHz was the motor size! I politely explained that it was frequency, and I suggest that they get 2 different number frequencies so their kids can race. Sorry for the rant, but I'm 15, and I should work in RS, because I know more than MOST of them do (some of them are actually pretty smart).

yeah that may be. I cant charge this dumbass car on anything else. Did you know that to exchange an R/C car for one exactly the same that is a different frequency at TRU you have to have a fricken receipt! It was a present! Sheeesh!
