i've heard that that thing uses a separate motor for turning...is this true?? or is just a tank with no tread and ginormous wheels?

It does turn like a tank, the second motor is for the "gimmick" or claw. From what I've seen it uses something called a magna-slide to transfer power to the opposing wheel when turning. I'll know more when I get a chance to play around with it.
