strip the end and shove it back in there then heat shrink all 4 wires together

Heatshrink Tubing! Wonderfull Stuff!!!
Get it from RadioShack!

RS 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing Cat# 278-1627

You place the tubing over a wire or connection, then you apply heat. (I use a lighter) You move the heat source around and watch the tubing shrink! It creates a water tight seal, and also provides support to the connection to prevent it from seperating. I also use it for strain releaf when I have a wire comming out of a box.

I do not know if a hair dryer will work, And I never tried a match. I have used a candle in place of a lighter, but that was because I had alot of wires to treat.

I think you will need 1 pice of heat shrink tubing to hold the wire inside the plug. Or maybe even replace the plug with something else that fits... I do not have the lights, so I cannot be more specfict.
