Radio Shack just announced recall of Skylines
Confirm this on your own, but our local RatShack just told us that RadioShack HQ just sent a memo to the stores to take back the Skylines because of defects. This came after having our 5th Skyline defect in our group. Will get more detail when we visit store later today.

Last time I looked (a few hours ago) the skylines were still availible on the RS web site.
I really dont think the skylines are any different than the other Xmods so if they recall the skylines they will have to recall all xmods.
The Xmods are not that bad, RS just used some brittle plastic and the electronics are sensitive.
I'm still going to make a chassis but it will barely resemble an Xmod when I'm done and it looks like I'll have to try and make some axle parts.(maybe some suspension arms)

Just got back from our local RS. The manager (who *might* have all her marbles) is saying that RadioShack is about to recall them. How she would know this, I have my doubts. But regardless, she is accepting them back with no questions now because of all the problems. Personally, I agree with others that all the XMODS are the same. Skylines just get more attention. I will keep taking them back as long as they keep offering returns.
When there working, the XMODS are just to fun to race against. Especially that first turn!

I have 3 Skylines, not one with a problem. Will they exchange them if painted? (Just in case.)

They probably would take it back if its not too noticable. Staying on topic here, does that mean you have to return a working skyline?

I had to return my first skyline because it had poor range. I got another one and it works fine. They gave me zero grief on the return even though it had scratches. When I returned it I put it back in the package just as if it were new. The next day I visited the same RS and they had the Skyline I returned on the shelf waiting for some other poor soul to buy. After informing RS of the defect the Skyline had they told me they would pull it off the shelf. Funny thing is I told RS when I returned it that it had the range problem. Bet it is still on the shelf now.

i have had no problems w/ my skyline except for my plastic axle braking(which i have found that only the skylines have and others have metal) but my range is good i can go about 30 yards out then it starts to fade out. and the only other thing is that it is REALLy loud when the motor is running.
