Lots of Questions

Alright first thing is i don't have a xmod and i have never really tryed to MOD any of my old rc cars but i was wondering about the 6th cell thing. Does it really increase the speed that much becuase 2 AA Batterys would seem to add alot of weight to the car. Also i have heard the xmods have like a 9ft turning radious, is this true? I have a friend who has a mini z will my xmod be able to keep up with his mini z. ( i will get one christmas) How much faster is it over micro-sizers. Also on radio shacks website it says there are 4 different types of recargeable batterys. Which is best for speed and is it the batterys that come with the xmod charger. What is mah on batterys do for speed, does it help any? As u can tell i am really new to the RC hobby but i have always been into painting models. Thanks for the help

all answers....

Q: Does it really increase the speed that much becuase 2 AA Batterys would seem to add alot of weight to the car.

A: They use AAA batteries and the rechargables weigh less than the alkalines do. Weight is not really a factor.

Q:Also i have heard the xmods have like a 9ft turning radious, is this true?

A: Absolutely not. It's more like 1-1.5ft and if your gunning at top speed you'll usually powerslide.

Q:I have a friend who has a mini z will my xmod be able to keep up with his mini z.

A: Nope, not unless you put a mini-z or enhanced mini-z motor in it. Most people are doing this. Keep in mind a Mini-Z is 2x as expensive as are most parts for it.

Q:How much faster is it over micro-sizers?

A: hahahahahahahahaha....That's like comparing a Schwinn to a Harley.

Q:Also on radio shacks website it says there are 4 different types of recargeable batterys. Which is best for speed and is it the batterys that come with the xmod charger.

A: Skip the Radio Shack batteries and charger and go for the Rayovac IC3s. They have 800mA and are 1.25V and charge in 15mins. I hear there are some 1.5V batteries out there, they would make the car go a bit faster, but are usually alkalines and the runtime is shorter and the battery lifespan is like 100 charges compared to several thousand charges. Volts=speed milliamps=runtime.
