I have some n00bish questions.....
This is my first post here.
I bought a Jeep Wrangler ZZ a few weeks ago (because it is exactly like my Daily Driver Jeep Wrangler), but i am not completely into zip zaps like you all are.... maybe in the future, but not currently. I just want to basically mod my jeep ZZ.
I have looked on this site & read manny, MANY posts to try to answer my questions, but some i couldnt find.
Here are the n00b questions:
1.Can the Jeep wrangler body fit on the Zipzap SE chasis?...... I basically want the SE's capabilities in my jeep ZZ (and so i can use the new SE controller).
I dont know how the lights work on the SE chasis, but i figure that I could rig it (& mod my jeep body) to where I can make it work...I'm not completely sure though. I HAVE seen the button battery headlight mod & would rather not use a button battery, that I couldnt turn on & off easily.
2.Are there any mods or ways I can get that would allow me to have bigger tires on my jeep zz? The tires that came with it are too thin (Looks like racing tires...jeep isnt a racing vehicle lol). I want slightly bigger tires so that it would look more like a stock jeep.
3. Is there a 68 camaro style body available for the ZZs? ................Edit! : nevermind about this question....I just found the 67 camaro ZZ..... Dang! I AM a n00b!!!
4. Is there any way to extend the range of the controller or car? I HAVE seen the coffee-stirrer/straw/antenna mod & the copper wire/controller antenna mod, but is there any other methods?
Thanks in advance from a ZZ n00b!

The SE Chassis does not have lights. It has a plug. The SE Bodies have lights and a connector. The headlights come on when you're moving forward. The Tails come on when you're in reverse. The Jeep body will fit on the SE. You may be able to take the lights out of the body that comes with the SE you end up buying, if you're careful, and make them work in your jeep. If you're near KC, I might be able to help you out.

I don't know what the body clearance is on the jeep bodies. you might look at various toys at walmart that have similar size wheels to the jeeps, and see if any have rubber tires. You could also try looking at pencil grips or other rubber tubing type things, and slicing them into "tires" with a pair of scissors.

No, but there's a 1967 Camaro SS / 2002 35th Anniversary Edition Body Upgrade Set (click here)

Aside from also replacing the antenna on the controller with one of a myriad of other telescoping antennas that RS sells, not really. There are other ways, like using a linear amplifier, but that's both expensive, and illegal per the FCC rules.

Hey thanks for the reply!
I did find the 67 camaro body kit....I was hoping i could get it as a starter SE kit, but doesnt look like it comes other than in the body kit.
I will look for other cars with rubber wheels for ones that may fit the jeep.
About the lights & connectors on the SE ZZ.... are the bulbs/leds molded into the plastic of the body? If so, couldnt i just cut the wires to the lights & replace them with leds , then drill holes (in the jeep body) & place them that way?
Also ..are the non-SE zz bodies/shells interchangeable with the SE bodies/shells?
Oh, I live south of KC,MO (near belton/raymore).

they're kinda glued to the inside of the body. all ZZ (ZZSE and NON SE) are interchangeable bodies. If u want, you could probably go ahead and cut the wires.
I live in olathe, and work at JCCC in overland park. I'm in stilwell right now at my parents house, heading into belton to pick up some stuff from a friend's place. I'm not all that far out. You're the only other KC local I've seen here. Welcome aboard!
