new to forums...

these look very similar to the Mini z's that Kyosho makes...and I wouldn't be suprised if they are making them for radio shack...I have the mini z...and I will be buying some of the upgrades for the radio shack cars (wheels, tires, light kit and the freq crystals) as they are lots cheaper that the kyosho stuff...wonder if the bodys mount the same way? do they have little plastic tabs behind the doors that click into the sides of the chassis? and a slot behind the front bumper for the front mount to slide into? thats how they mount on the kyosho cars...and the kyosho cars have adjustable wheel bases so all the bodys will fit it. I want to be able to change the body kit as well thats why...my mini z already has the upgraded suspension, the ballbearings, treaded tires on custom wheels, a brake disk conversion (non functional) a Z06 corvette body and a higher rpm motor...its pretty fast...too fast to run in the kitchen anyways.

i dont think that xmods are made by kyosho. xmods are only 50 bucks and i think mini zs are somwhere around 200. the cassis look diferent too. the mini z has the motor monted in the back at a sidewas angle and the xmod has the motor in a totaly different place. it is at a 90 degree angle to the axle and it is placed more in the middle of the car.

the xmod will have more popularity and potential due to radio shack marketing. So far it's starting slow though. But I've asked customers if they've ever heard of mini z's so that i can compare it to them, but they don't have an idea about what i'm talking about.

you can hop up the mini z to go fast also...and I still say that the manufacturer of the kyosho cars makes the radio shack cars...I have seen the bodys for both and they are the same exact molds (with a few changes made to allow removal of parts)...also they share a lot of similar parts...the wheels for example are the same exact thing...and notice the mounting of the batteries...and how the body mounts.. either that or the radio shack people stole the ideas and copied parts from the kyosho people? I think the same manufacturer makes them both...the radio shack car is just made so it can be sold at a lower price (the mini z comes with a full size pistol grip transmitter) I have already heard that the stock miniz will smoke a stock x mod car so I guess the price also reflects this.( did you know that most of radio shacks cars and trucks are made by NIKKO and sold under the radio shack brand name? this is true! radio shack buys their stuff from other manufacturers and renames/ reboxes it.

kyosho didnt make xmods. the miniz has sub hobby grade electronics in it, IE a high resolution servo and speedo. also mini-z are popular depended on where you live. out here lots of people know about or have mini-z. there are races all the time. and mini-z have hundreds of hop-ups. you would not believe! radio shacks selection thus far is limited in comparison. and mini-z bodies have a little more detail than xmods do, well the autoscale collection does anyways. and miniz are faster

just to let you know there is no bias here, i hate my miniz, i just have it cause it is pretty
