6-cell-dilemna
So, I recently bought a 2 AAA battery holder from RadioShack. I installed it to make a 6-cell, and threw in the 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries. I ran it with the hard tread tires on my carpet. GOOD GRIEF!!!! This thing looked as if it would set records on my tile floor downstairs. Well, I did it.....and instead of the heatsink, I reinstalled the plastic clip. I tried to fit it in, but no matter what, the body wouldn't come all the way down without some force, and when I clipped it in, for some reason the gears got squished tighter together and it wouldn't run, so I just let the rear end of the body sit high off the wheels. I ran it for around 3-5 minutes with the soft slicks. At first, ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM it went fast. the 50% increase was a LOT more than I imagined. But, at the last minute of playtime, I could smell hot metal and I knew something was wrong. I turned off the car, and put my finger on the motor.... AAUGH!!! I almost burned my finger. Yowch! That hurt! And the bottom of the chassis.....Well, that didn't burn me, but it was enough to point out that I almost fried the electronics.....any longer, I would have returned it because of baked chips for dinner. (That might take a few seconds to sink in)
I thought that a 50% increase in power was too much, but the regular just ain't enough. I'm going for a 5th cell, that won't burn the car but I'll still be faster than those non-technology-nuts down the block.
See you later,
Chuckster...

you can make it all fit
You need the heatsink and you can make it all fit if you read Bad Company's thread titled "deceitful Supra". This is how I did mine, except that I used a screw and nut from the RS screw and nut/washer set instead of an old plastic bearing and X-Mod long screw. Also, if you hae RWD, glue the rear tires to the rims, if AWD then glue all four.
Oh and I forgot, I had to dremel the battery holder down a bit, but if you get the x-mod battery holder (left or right side doesn't matter) then you don't need to cut the battery carrier down because it is a lot smaller.

If you are using the Supra or Skyline, you can make it fit with only removing the light kit mounts in the roof using the plastic motor holder. If you want to use the heat sink, you will have to add the spacers between the rear body clip and the body. This is for mounting the extra battery holder on top of the chassis or under the roof.
Other people have mounted them elsewhere though with mixed results.
