Unhappy Please Reply! Serious Issues! Car Doesn't Work At All!

EVERYONE! i am in a dire situation. i went to install my drift motor and in the process, i broke the antenna wire. i re-soldered it and screwed it back in. a little thereafter, i undid the solder on the 5th cell on the POS side. i re did it and turned on the car. it had the usual feedback, like the wheels straighten out. i turned on the reciever, no feedback. i hit the gas, nothing. i tried to steer it, nothing. i looked over the car, and i can't see anything. i think it is a controller problem because when i curn on the car, i get a good amount of feedback. the light is bright red, and i replaced the battery. i have no idea what is going on, so can someone please help me to fix this quandry?

make sure your crystals are both inserted correctly and firmly seated.

make sure you got a good connection when you resoldered the antenna wire and that the surface between teh metal tab and the actual antenna is clean for a good connection

Hmm... mine JUST started doing this same thing... only twitches with the on/off switch, no response to the controller. It happened after I slid into my cat's water bowl.

I broke it allll the way down, pulled out the ESC/Reciever board, and cleaned them with anhydrous then an air compressor. While I was at it, I swabbed all the other crap out of the chassis. I run my xmods outdoors a LOT, so there was a bit of sand, dirt, and other debris in there. Cleaned out the heatsink, cleaned all the heatsink grease off the heatsink and thr chips, put 2 little dabs of arctic silver 3 on the chips and put everything back together. She works now.

Might be pure coincidence, but maybe let it sit for a few days and see if it works? Or if you dare, take it apart and clean/dry it out. It could also be something other than water, like just good old fashioned fried circuitry.

check the little wires going to the little pcb board where the antenna wire and crystal plug in. that was the problem with the electronics i ordered. i just had to strip it and resolder it. that seems to be a common problem with these.

I agree with ax0n. I wish you good luck getting it working again. I'm not sure what else it could be.

GRRR

i went to rat shack a couple hrs ago, and i talked to the shakies. the dude went into a huge thing about how cool the 5th cell mod was. great, i didn't care. so he told me to buy new batteries cause they were dead. so i did that and i went home and installed 4 new batts and i undid that black wire with the 5th cell wired in and attatched a new 22-gauge wire. it's green so it looks pretty customized . but anyway, i went back and the dude thinks i fried something with the 5 cells. so i am going back 2maro to talk to the manager. but can someone help me to unassemble my car to inspect it? i wanna look at the esc and stuff that axon said. i really have no idea on how to do that.

nice avatar. all you have to do is remove everything from the front end. 4 that hold the towers on, 2 that hold the bottom of the knuckles on. remove those and the 2 rear screws on the plate on top. then remove the battery adjustment screws on top. then remove the 2 bottom screws that hold the black plate onto the rest of the chassis. take out the rear end as an assembly and take out the driveshaft too. then remove the the screws that are on both sides of the on/off switch. then the electronics should be able to pull right out. ill take pics of what screws to take out when i get home.
