You need a custom charger to charge two batteries. Do you have one?

The site that i got my info from is no longer, so i wouldn't be able to instruct you.

I am sure someone else on this board could.

well to make one just simple and affordable enough to work, you will need the following:
1 Radioshack 4AA battery case w/ ON/OFF switch
1 Spare ZZ Controller
1 Soldering Gun (optional)

Unscrew the ZipZap controller, and dismantle the two pieces. You will need to remove the charging base (the dock you put the car on) from the controller. Notice the base is connected to two red/black wires. Pull some of the black and red wire off of the inside where it is glued. Cut it off so that you have about 1" of red wire and 1" of black wire dangling off. So now you have a charging base with two wires hanging off it. You will need to cut off some of the insulation so you can see the bare wire. You can use a boxcutter, hobby knife, scissor, whatever you are comfortable with. Now just twist together the red bare ends from the base to the red bare ends from the battery case. Same goes for the black. Now this doesn't have a timer or something for you to configure the exact length of charging you need to do, so some experimenting will have to be done there.

i did the exact same thing....only, instead of twisting the wires, I ripped the wires from the charging plate, removed the holder's and soldered the wires to the charging plate. I then used it to charge my car......the layman's dual cell worked great, but then I did the layman's tricell, charged it wrong, and got fried chips for dinner.....that joke is getting old.....fried chips....crunchy

For my custom charger, I drilled a hole in the back of my controller, and mounted a coaxil plug. I bought a wall power supply, and charge my dual battery zip with the wall charger.
