Perfection Light Kit Installation
Hey, I just got my Toyeast order today (only took a week, with normal shipping, too!) and I bought two Perfection Light kits, but I can't seem to install them correctly. Can someone show me their setup so I can see how to install it?

I used mine for about a week until I realized that it was interfering with my steering. Just whatever you do, don't use the sticky tack they give you. I used small pieces of duct tape instead. What body are you trying to put it on? I lined up the lights where I wanted them and put a piece of tape over it to hold it there. Then I used a small amount of the sticky tack to hold the battery to the roof and then fed the switch out the back window.

OK it depends on the body you are planning to install them in but here is the general Idea.
1. Get some black electrical tape and put a piece or two under the body and around the lights. make sure that you don't have tape over the headlights.
2. Place the light against the headlight location on the body. it helps to have it lit up. Use a small amount of the sticky putty/tape to secure it and then put the battery and switch in the car. Put the body on the chassis and check the suspension and steering to see if the lights interfere with the chassis. If it interferes move the lights around until you get it right. Note: LED's can be filed or sanded down to make them flat and fit better. On my truck I installed the Perfection set in I put in a spring suspension because the suspension arm hit the lights.
3. After you are comfortable that the lights don't interfere with the operation of the car put another piece or two of electrical tape over the lights so they will only show out the front through the headlights.
I have super glued a set of LED's in another truck project after flattening them so they didn't interfere with the suspension. I made that light set myself from Radio Shack parts but I'm still looking for a small switch like the one used in the perfection set.

Yes this truck has GREEN eyes.

You I put RED LED's in the taillights too.

Bilbo, there's an electronics surplus store near me that has switches very similar to the one they use on the perfection set. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm going to try a few electronics stores near me when I get a chance to get to them. If they don't have them I may take you up on the offer.

Bilbo Baggins (Hobbit) Here.
Pig Tailed Antenna - I installed Cat5 antenna wire then I twisted it anound a small screwdriver. I've made even tighter pig tail by using a paperclip and wrapping it around it.
The Light kit in the Green pickup is from Perfection and you can get it from Toy East.
The light kit in the Blue Truck was made by me from Cat5 wire and LED's from Radio Shack. Get 3v LEDs and connect the negative leads to the negative on the battery and the positive leads to the positive terminal on the battery. You can put a switch in, and I may still do so in the future.

Ok Bilbo, I'm still kind of confused. What do you do with the electrical tape? Could you show me pics of the inside of your shell so I can see how you positioned everything?

I'll take a picture next time I get my hands on a camera.
You take the black electrical tape and put it on the inside of the body around the headlights. Keep the headlights clear or no light will go through.
