Car Won't Run. Help Please
My daughter has a Mario Yoshi. It will only run when it is on the charger. When it is off of the charger it will do nothing. Thanks for any help!

The motor isn't making good contact. Bend the small tab underneath the motor up slightly. If that doesn't work, push the motor to the right to press the endbell up against the other contact.

no, that's wrong cuz if it runs on charger then the motor is making contact just fine. the battery inside migth have shifted and not making contact on the battery contacts. pop it open and make sure the battery is in place and touching the metal contacts. if it has been dual celled or wutever, check the connectinos

I have to agree with type zero. Check the battery. It's either bad contact or the battery itself may be bad. When the car is on the charger it's running off the charger's power source, not the battery in the car. When you take it of the charger, you lose that power source, so if the battery inside the car isn't working then it wont run.
But, to psedorooter's defense, sometimes bad connection with the motor can be overcome with the charger as a power source because the charger puts out more power and can overcome an open in a circut better. It's kinda like saying everything will conduct electricity, it just depends on how much electricity you put in it. You can also put a small amount of tin foil between the motor's back end and the metal it connects to for better connection if you don't have a tool to bend that tiny peice of metal.
Be carefull on the inside of that thing, one jerk the wrong way will snap a steering wire. Sorry if you already knew that.

Does it just not run at all? Does the steering work, but not the motor? It does sound like the battery's toasted.
