No!

It just means that you can increase speed by changing gears, and that's a real STUPID way to say it! The motor is STILL 35,000 rpm!

Thumbs down Exactly

BillyP's right. If that eBAYer wasn't so concerned with just getting hits on his ad, he might've put more thought to say something like "will perform as though motor was 50,000RPM!!". The car doesn't reach speeds of 50K RPM's. RPM's are turns (Rounds Per Minute - in this case, it's how many complete evolutions the internal rotor will make per minute).

But hey, it still looks to be 1K RPM higher than the purple motor in the 2F2F kit, but for $20???? The 2F2F kit is under that and comes with much more and comes from a reputable source.

yea i was thinking that that motor would work....i mean gears cant increase your speed 15,000 rpm....and i agree that the 2f2f kit is alot better.

Though gears don't change the speed of your motor, they can make a BIG difference. A car with a 6:1 motor to wheel speed ratio will be twice as fast as one with a 12:1 ratio. The drawback is that your torque/acceleration will be cut in half.

you guys are forgetting though, the gears gear the cars DOWN. it is like 8.25:1(for every 8.25 turns of the motor, the wheels spin 1 time), not 1:8.25(for ever 1 spin of the motor, the wheels turn 8.25 times). it doesnt spin at 50,000rpms. if it is a 35,000 rpm motor then the fastest (at least zipzap) gearset will have a wheel rpm of 6060rpms. ill elaborate on this later, im gonna go watch arachnaphobia

I got suckered into buying one of these motor kits from this guy. My advice is don't buy it, you will be severely disappointed. I believe the axel is from a bit or the like and the motor is disappointing as well. Just my $.02
