So... how DO you make bit body mods?

I've got a vhs tape sleeve I could cut up for parts. I want to make some simple body mods to visually lower a bit and make it look a little different than stock (and probably a rear wing for a car too). What methods usually work best for you all out there?

Is a vhs tape sleeve material (the semi-hard type) useful as a modding material?

Thanks for your time.
