Unhappy Melted my bit tonight....ooops

I came home from work tonight and decided I was going to run my best single cell car I had. I hooked it up to my 4 cell charger only to run a short charge on it and walked away. Of course I forgot I had it hooked up and about 45 minuted later I smelled it. The chassis, battery and more was melted and toast.

Good news is now I have some spare front end parts and a extra heat sync for the motor I guess. Oh well off to ebay to find another car. Thank GOD my custom Skyline body with many mods was not damaged.

Another BAD thing was that I just dropped in a 160 nimh batt that I got from Toy East in it and it's TOAST.

Just had to share my night....

I will get some photos tonight of the chassis and battery. It got so HOT it even almost melted the batteries in the charger. The rapping around the batteries came off too. OUCH!!

My god, this sounds bad! I have never heard anything worse than this..... The worst I came to something like this was leaving my 9.6 volt battery plugged into the wall for like almost 2 days.... It was kinda like sounding like something was cracking, and was burning hot.

I am trying to get my friends digital tomorrow and get some shots..

So today I think I decided to go ahead and get me a 350Z Fairlady with booster and just keep it a single cell with a battery mod, antenna mods, 3.8 perfection and my dope ass Skyline Body all decked out...

Ooh and of course a pull back wheel mod on it.

I did that too, but mine was a dual cell. Melted my body to the chassis, chassis to the batteries.

Here's one for ya...

I put my Layman tricell car on a 9v charge at 800mah for way too long. I left the room, and heard a firecracker goin' off in my kitchen. It blew the middle cell so hard that the chassis was spread out wider, top of the car popped up, and obviously the PCB and cover were pushed up. Smelled kinda sweet though. I guess that's one good thing about it.
