What exactly do you mean by it won't work? Do you get any responce from the controller? (ie: forward, reverse, right , left) Was it the crip cap from the car you were taking out? WITH A KNIFE?? Hopefully you didn't cut into the PCB!! If so, you may have a parts car in your hands. Pick up some soder as well.

i chipped away part of tha crip cap and then it wouldnt respond. i put it to charge and while it was chargin it worked when i pushed forward. then i inserted bake tha pcb. no response after that. how much is a soldering kit? i really need one cause most of tha mods require the use of a solder. i wished i just left it alone. its my first micro. damn man. 37 dollars down tha drain.

Well, at least you have a good parts car now so all that money isn't wasted. Besides, $37 canadian dollars is like 50 cents USD
If you're going to get a solder kit, just becareful when soldering. You can still damage a lot of parts but at least now you have a test subject to play on.

Ok,
First off if you've chipped off part of the crip cap from the car, it WON'T work because there is more then likely a break in the circuit. you could try desoldering it from the board, then jumping the connection to see what will happen. OR try to find another SMT cap like the one you chipped and replace it. If you don't know how to solder......Get a book from Radio Shack. In fact, RS is where you'll find the rest of you soldering supplies. And yet another solution: Buy a good clone and use you MS as a parts car.

Ok, since it is basically already SCREWED! You could desolder the cap, then resolder a wire or two back in it's place. It may or may not work, but what have you got to lose?? Now if you go to Radio Shack, you should be able to get a soldering iron, some solder(60/40), a desoldering pump (or a desolder wick is cheaper) and a BOOK ON SOLDERING for less then say.....$25 USD

I took off my cripple cap with a pocket knife scissor. I shattered it, and there was still a connection from the remnants of the capacitor. It didn't work. So I scraped away what was left and it worked again, can't have anything bridging that gap unless its an intact capacitor.
