Black or Silver outline? (need help)
Hi,
I'm working on a new car and I would like to outline my windows in either black or silver (on the sides). Can anyone recommend me any techniques? I might try using some kind of marker pen. (?)
(I'm also having trouble painting the grill, should I try a very very very small brush?)
Thanks for your help,
Toben
P.S. I'll have pictures up as soon as I'm finished painting!

If your gonna go wiht black, get a sharpie fine liner, its permanen marker wit ha very fine tip,, i think there now made in silver too im not sure,,,,
about your grill, you a paint it with a very thin paint if the paints too thick itll just destroy the look of your grill.

Thanks I'll use like a little bit at a time.
I'm definitely going to buy a silver marker it's going to look cool!
Now... if only I knew where to buy something like that haha :] There are no hobby shops near my school that I know of.

you arent going to go the hobby shop for a silver marker. Try a art supplies store.

DANGITTTTTT IM SO MAD THE SHARPIE MARKER WENT THROUGH MY SCOTCH TAPE MASK ITS ALL OVER MY PAINT JOB NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lesson learned: Do not use sharpie marker to detail lines on your car... especially if you are using scotch tape as mask.

yea sometimes sharpies will bleed through tape....when i want to paint my car i usually use a small paint brush and paint it with "testors" paint.

paint job
it's a gunmetal (like a dark silver) lancer with black smeary mark around the sunroof.
I decided to just finish it up as it is... it's a pretty decent job and learning experience. hopefully when I work on my rx7 i won't screw up.
Detailing the door handles/lights and tinting windows.. Maybe get a few pictures by this weekend. :O
