Hi Jim,
Sorry to hear you are having a problem getting the layout you want. Are you using 16" or 24" track? And which Track Pack do you have. Also check out the attached image and let me know if that is what you are trying to acomplish. You are right, switchbacks, chicanes, or S curves must have two 90 degree opposing curves or any angle as long as it is duplicated on a return parallel section of track. If the large radius curves were a diameter larger then 32" radius (which is what would be required to make a chicane line up) they would not line up with the 16" grid pattern RealTracks is based on. As usual, the good ideas from customers result in a improved product. We were considering including them in the Track Packs for some time but lost track of it. We will start including a 3.89" short straight section to allow the switchback you are trying to make. I have some made so drop me a email with you address and I will send (2) out to you today (at no charge obviously).
