Hey, I'm a newbie here too and I just got a Digi Q. having some problems with it, but aside fomr that, I can tell you that right off the bat, it's a lot better than a Bit.

For one thing, it's even faster than a Bit with a 3.8 and the handling is so much smoother and better. After all the Digi Q is a propo ( kind of) so your control is much better with this car. The controller included with the car is also much better than the Bit type controllers 'cuz it's analog as opposed to the Bit's digital type.

In other words, with a Bit, you're either going full throttle or no throttle, and you're either turning or not. With the Digi Q, you can go light on the throttle trigger so you're not going too fast to turn, or you can nail it and leave Bits in the dust. The wheel type controller (similar to the ones used for bigger R/C cars) also let use turn sharp or take a wider turn.

As for Digi Qs with lights, yep there are a few of 'em out there. There are the type R models which have the NSX, Skyline GTR and WRX with lights to name a few and they're in the $40+ to $50+ range. I got the RX-7 type R with the turning front wheels at Cosmogames. ( Front wheels aren't actually controlled, they just turn in the direction the car is turning to make it corner sharper).

And in case you haven't read all the posts in the forum, Digi Qs don't control the front wheels to turn, they have 2 motors. One for each rear wheel and to turn, they slow down one or the other motor. It's called differential steering, just like a tank. Found out form the other members here and after getting my car that this thing has 2 motors AND 2 batteries. THAT's one of the reasons it's so fast.
