Theory?
You know the Z-cars and SmartChar-G clones have controllers that can generate engine revving sounds (the cars with headlights built in and the clear chassis, remember?). Chances are, the circuit boards are the same, but Tomy decided not to activate it as it was too cheesy a feature perhaps. Cant MIDI or electronic tones be generated with vibration instead of a speaker? Maybe thats the case, as I havent come across any type of speaker in the Tomy controllers.
