just get the 3.0 motor kit. it's cheap and you get the 3.0, red racing transfer and axle gears, plus an 8 point pinion gear. it makes a big difference. i have that in mine and i just push the motor closer to the transfer gear. it makes it smoother and quieter. you also get an adapter so you can use bit bodies on it.
