I know that WD-40 makes things extremely loose, the reason I won't use it again in my minivan. As for your bit char-g, I suggest using a little soak water to wash the grease and WD-40 off (that is without soaking the chasis, take a paper towel and moisten it with soak water and pass it where the axle fits.). As for the loose axle, somebody else on the forum mentioned a way to rebuilt the axle clips with glue.
