I'd get the Panzer. It's a different body style, which is cool, but it will also let you put the war-mode to use. That's where each tank has it's own specifications for gun power, life, # bullets, and reload speed. Plus, you could still battle the Russian and panzer in practice or equal mode. If you buy another Russian you're pretty much always in equal mode.
There are some frequent complaints with the panzer, but they can be fixed by one of the following.
1. Check that all the wheels spin freely (except the drive wheels. they won't because they're on gears.) If one catches or rubs too tight you can try lube or boring out the hub with a teeny tiny flat head screw driver. That worked for me. They come off fairly easy too. Just put pressure on it and it pops off, but don't lose the center pin to hold it in.
2. Open the shell and put a couple drops of lube in the gearing.
3. Run in the motors in forward and reverse for 3 or 4 charges. You could also solder out the motor and run them in with batteries, but I haven't had to do that yet.
