The front-end shot is the steering mechanism taken off of the chassis, which extends out in front of the tie rod. Then it attaches to the body with a screw. So it should be plenty rigid.

Steering is very quick, but it would be nice to have alternate drive motors. Can you drive a coreless motor off of a standard speed control?
