"Up to 20 feet" is what I've heard.
Myself, I get about ~20feet. So your 10-15 isn't unusual.
If you want to get extreme, I've heard you can get about an extra 10 feet of range if you take the IR Cover off the remote.
Pretty UGLY if you do that though, not to mention it could be dangerous on the eyes.
