I've been browsing the boards for the past few days and have really grown interested in this mini R/C phenomenom. I've spent the past few days reading the vast number of posts and have learn a great deal!
I'm getting set to purchase my first car shortly. However, I have a couple of questions that I want to get some clarification on before I take the plunge. I've read the FAQ and did a search for the information. I found bits and pieces, but nothing definitive.
My first purchase will most likely be the:
[b]Tomy Bit Char - G
G-20 Initial D Set[/vb] - Is this an authentic set or one of the many clones? I've checked the box layout and compared it to the pics in
Look Here FIRST! thread and it seems legit. However, I also know that clones are popping up overnight!

My second question is regarding the LXX clones. I have seen one of the silver Castrol Skyline, which appears identical to the Tomy version. I didn't see anything regarding compatibility with the real Tomy minis. Does anyone know if they are identical or list the differences, if any? I'd like to get the real deal, but also pick up a clone to learn/practice modding.
