a lot of people, including myself, have added a telescoping antenna to the controller. not to disrespect any of the sites that sell parts for our cars, but don't buy an antenna from them. go to radio shack and pick up a telescopic antenna for $5 and you'll not only save a dollar or two from the websites, but you'll save on shipping, too. this is how i did mine.
i've since rewired it a bit though. the wire that attaches to the actual antenna is now routed down that spare whole and solder into place.
i know many people have written a how-to for this, but i'll make my own soon, too.
