nimh = nickel metal hydride, similar to nicad but worse memory effect and slightly lower capacity. also cheap

1.2 2.4 whatever means the voltage rating

all stock micro rc cars come with 1.2 volt batteries which means they are supposed to output 1.2 volts. when fully charged they will tend to output 1.25 or 1.3. at the end of its charge itl be more like 1v

mah is its capacity rating. i believe tomy batteries come with 50mah. a 150mah should hold 3x as much and take 3x as long to charge.
i believe you are wrong/mixed up with the nicad and nimh.

nimh have no memory effects at all and hold more capacity than nicad

nicad have memory effects and hold less than nimh

nimh cost more because of these advantages. In theory it will take three times longer to charge but if you don't change the electronics inside the controller the car will be charged up to 45 seconds no matter what the battery and you would get the same run time. You could always do consecutive charges which can multiply your run times by a bit so why wouldn't you convert to nimh?
