I just took a picture of the inside of the Wild Char-G for you all:

As you can see the steering coils are near center. Also the Wild Char-G requires TWO motors. One is located on the back (the right hand side of the picture which is removed) and one motor attached to the center of the cover plate next to the pinion gear.
Edit: The second motor attached to the cover plate in the center is used to drive the front claw up and down.
