- NO. The first time I switched the unit on one of the LED's just flickered for a second and that was it. While it was (supposedly) charging the light was not on. I have NOT had a steady red light.

They've been sitting around for a few months in their packaging, but this is the first time I've put them to use. So, no they're not newly purchased but this is their first use.
