D'Nano in Canada and the GTA (greater Toronto area)

To the original poster and the last person posting: I live in the GTA too and can certainly help you with anything D'Nano, as we are extensively developing the car for in-school and camp programs here in Toronto and across Canada.

I can tell you that there are NO authorized dealers in Canada for d'nano and you are basically on your own. That said, I bring in my cars from directly from Japan and have yet to have a problem; I usually have a new car or two in stock -- if you are not too picky about what body style you want, and I would be happy to do a quick break-in and test it before you plunked your money down.

The main issue you will have with the d'Nano is finding a track to run it on ...which is why you shouldn't worry about "registering" your car ...the Hobbytown tracks don't exist up here, and even if they did, in my humble opinion, they are a an unexciting joke and the online racing program is poorly implemented and completely non-functional at the club level. (do NOT run your car on a bare floor unless you enjoy cleaning out the front bearing every two minutes).

With respect to Kyosho's involvement up here, I think I was a year younger the last time a Kyosho rep visited this forum to take the pulse of the d'nano community, let alone addressed any of the Canadian issues.

Ranting aside, I take the view that the glass is half full and the cars have a lot of potential. Read through my posts and anything on RCP tracks to get a good idea on how to setup a good track and what to run it on. I can supply you with a track if you need, either an RCP or my hand-built tracks.

Setting up a good track at home, and then getting a few buddies interested in racing is currently the ONLY way to enjoy these cars outside of Japan or the US (and even in the US, in my opinion) as there is no organized racing in Canada. Also, vist Q'on's site over at Nano Trax to see one of the few D'Nano racing communities outside of Japan.

Hope this helps you get going, and if you send me your email via mesage board I will keep you informed of upcomming events in the Toronto area. - Lorne
