I completely agree with the original poster
...which is why we are working on a 20ft track that is in the same league as the best Mini-Z tracks. (I don't care what you do a 4-second track, it get's boring very fast, not to mention that anything more than 6-7 cars at once becomes problematic.) Strangley, the potential of these cars is so much greater than the in-store commerical 'system' Kyosho has released. And yes, smaller shops would certainly add to the market mix, grow the scale category and help immensley. Not to mention that this 'big box' market strategy completely side-steps local clubs, the heart of North American R/C racing.
Don't worry, it will get fixed; markets have a way of finding their own way just as humans come equipped with two feet; they can still get around even if one is stuck somewhere it shouldn't be.
