Nah, it just allows for the articulation to revolve around the center axel. Though I think there could be some torque applied to the front end when you get on the throttle causing the front section of the chassis to want to spin in the opposite direction. But, from what I've read, it's not a problem at this scale.
I'm still working out the details on doing one myself, so I don't know if this is a real issue or not just yet.
