Hooking up a circuit of LEDs is kind of complicated. You can't just wire them all togehter. You need resisters on each LED to ensure it only draws the current it needs and no more. The resister values need to be calculated with a formula for that purpose. A simple diagram ain't gonna do it.
I would suggest you look at the beginners electronics link that Namuna supplied in a sticky and then do some experimenting with a breadboard before you start working on your cars.
This is one that can't just be handed to you. you need to do some research and practice. You might learn how to do even cooler stuff while your at it.
