I'd cut it here. Right between the steering pot and the battery. You can keep the charging contacts this way. But, if you stretch the thing at all, you won't get it on a standard charging station anyway as the front of the chassis will no longer clip into the front hook.
If you keep the butt of the thing intact and break off the front hook from the charging station on the TX, you should be able to hold the front end down as it charges. Or, you could make a custom charging station that has the front hook further out.
