So I finally dug into my SSMT. They have a stout body, but the electronics aren't the greatest. It appears to be similar to a zzmt board that goes to an external H-Bridge.

Anyways, not being satisfied I had 2 single AA holders sitting around so I took off the "gas tanks" on the clips and glued one on each side.

It ran 6 cells for a good 15 minutes without frying anything. The reverse is having some difficulty, but I think something is binding between the motor and gears.

Anyways, for anyone else out there wanting to turn up the power, I'd say go for it.
