I've bought 6 XMODS, and they've all had channel 2 crystals (actually, I don't ever recall even seeing a channel 1, and I've got 2 sets of racing crystals).
You may want to try swapping out with a different crystal. I'm not sure how, but I blew out a crystal. Basically, my car's remote was dead, but the car was OK, as the wheels twitched when I turned it on. I replaced the remote's crystal with one of my many spares, and it worked like a charm again.
