Carbon brushes absolutely must be broken in to work properly. A stage one half-stalled will run faster than even the fastest non-broken in motor. Dont worry about a wet break in though, just hook it up to a two cell AA battery pack and let the batteries run down (alkys, preferably). Youll be able to hear it change.
