The newest SE (60-7050, Ford GT et.al.) uses a 50% duty cycle on the motor instead of 30% on earlier versions. I'm not sure when they changed it though, I've only tested the 60-7033, 60-7034 and 60-7050. I don't know if the other models are improved (like the Starsky&Hutch line).

I don't know if a 30% duty cycle car with FETs would be better than a stock 50% duty cycle car. My guess would be yes, but I've never done a direct comparison.
