Hey Azimov! It's great to see you again, where've ya been man?
Anyways, back a few months ago when I got a Torino, It had better steppage to the left than the 1st generation SE's, and there was no stuttering in the straightening. But the GTO's (recent) now have stuttering?
Ditto to some of the statements in this thread....Amazing how RS can do such stupid things, and how they're trying to kill the ZipZap line for Xmods....
Anyways, The steering issue wasn't the only problem for the SE...it weighed a lot more, and the bodies sat high on the chassis...flip, flip, flip. cyborgzero already came up with a FET mod to solve the speed issue, however......
Oh, and if you're going to fork up 50 dollars plus tax to get an Xmod, you might as well put up 45 dollars to buy an Iwaver Mini-Z from Toyeast, and the rest of the money to get 4 AAA batts for the chassis/8 AA's for the controller....
I'm not much into the micro market nowadays because I busted my 2 SE's (I need some FETs to do the FET mod on the ZipZap SE right now), and I'm more into Mini-Z's these days (I won't start ranting on the soapbox again, but let's just say that I consider the Iwaver Z a real type of Mini-Z, not just a clone), so while I still have a bunch of ZipZap junk, I haven't used it in a long time...
Anyways, great to see you back Azimov.
Chuckster...
*EDIT*
Here's a thread that shows some of the things you can do to fix the steering problems and the speed issues in the SE:
