Back to servo: I use Hitec 20-BB sub micro. These are really small, and much smaller than DRR Servos. A lot quicker and more precise too.

The DTM SP & DRR are scaled down pan cars which make them 1. very quick and very fast 2. Easy to work on. One of the reasons why I gave up 1/10th scales. 3. smooth gear meshing. very quiet. 4. If one has enough imagination, can reach speeds up to 59 mph.

And if space is an issue, simply lessen the cells. I'll admit, a fully modded MR02 (Mini-Z) will not have a chance. But one can't compare the two, because they are different classes. But my point is, of all the Micro RC's, DTM SP and DTM RR are the only ones that will give the 1/18th rc's a run for their money.

I love Mini-Z's a lot, but when it comes to reliability and fun of use, I choose the DTM's over them. I guess it's just preference. I do agree with the fact that there's not a lot of people running them, but if RC tracks were to put up a class with this thing, it will be more intense. One big reason: DTMs come with very low modifications, so there really is not much in it for tracks to make money on. This may not be the case in some cases, but notice how a lot of tracks heavily promote, cars that require a lot of hop-ups? That's because it generates income, and I don't blame them. I would do the same, but it doesn't mean I would not promote the DTMs. I like them a lot for their simplicity, and yet, their competitive edge.

On Ozite is where the DTMs really shine. As that one seller said, it's literally like a slot car without the slots. It's fast and very responsive.

One big reason why I got into Micro RC's was to enjoy running it more than working on it. I find other Micro RC's requiring more time to work on. And this is based on my experience.

You can use bigger pinions, but you have to dremel parts of the motor mount, where the bushing on the shaft side of the motor sits. It's the part of the motor can that protrudes, and is where the bushing is located. Simply grind that down. Take your time doing it to avoid mess ups.
