I just unknotted the antenna on my 27Mhz ZZ. I probably won't be able to tell any difference racing tonight because Latency's track is only 8' long and I stand at the middle of one side or the other. But I should definitely be able to tell once I get it home. Both my cars start to sputter and die when I am standing at one end of my kitchen and the car is at the other (about 15'). Hopefully the 27 will now be able to turn around at the end without me leaning forward or moving toward the car. If it does, I may make the mod on my 49 as well.
I may end up also replacing the controller antennas with longer ones as well, as I have heard that significantly improves range.
