theres button cells on there put they look a little big. some camera batteries look close.but i know that these people that put these in had to do some major work on the board in order for it to handle all those volts. they put new thicker wires everywhere. this isnt zz, its xmods, but if you go to atomic mods .com they show all the steps in puting in aaa lithium cells. xmods are a lot bigger too. they have cool videos on there to, like a gas rc jumping a house. you into anything else besides zz? i have a gas monster truck and that thing kicks. it goes over 40 mph. im into that more than zz since theres alot more stuff involed. its also more cooler since you can work on the motor, which you really cant on a zz. i can do anything on a motor, but i still cant do a whole lot on the board. i did do one mod on the motor of a zz. i rewonded the wires in the motor. that was hard work. it wasnt worth it. i only got a little more performance from it.
